2 Corinthians 2:17 (GNV)
For we are not as many, which make merchandise of the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
“Sow your seed, receive your miracle”
“Give a seed into this soil, and see what God will do for you now”
“Give your best offering and make your request before God and see what testimony He will give to you”
Many times people will share how they have been compelled to sow a seed to obtain a financial, material, or spiritual blessing in their life. They say it works and they have seen things happen from it, while others are still waiting. Both groups of seed sowers have come away with hearts that feel uneasy. The problem is that they have given under compulsion and manipulation in an attempt to produce (purchase) a miracle. The Scripture is very strongly against compulsive giving. If we sow from a spirit of manipulation or compulsion we will reap into our lives (our soil) this same type of spirit.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
The Lord does not charge for miracles. The Lord freely heals and commands us to do the same.
Matthew 10:8 (KJV)
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Simply study the Biblical examples of healing and you will not see the Lord Jesus taking up an offering before healing or providing provision for the people. To sow a seed to get a miracle is unscriptural and will cause the person who has given under pressure to obtain something through witchcraft and idolatry. Some argue, well, I got what I wanted when I sowed in this manner. Yes, they may get what they have purchased, but they will not like the end result of the manner in which they obtained it. The Bible is very clear that if there is an idol in our heart, we will be answered according to it and not according to His will.
Ezekiel 14:4-5 (KJV)
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the Lord will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
It is very similar to when the Catholic church would sell indulgences and things of like manner. Things of God are NOT purchased by money. Do you remember the Simon the sorcerer?
Acts 8:18-24 (KJV)
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
Of course we should tithe, give offering and sow into the work of the Lord, but this should be done under direction of the Holy Spirit, not under the compulsion of man. Is there blessing in giving? Yes absolutely! But we do not give to get a blessing, we give because we love Him and desire to obey His Word!
Luke 6:38 (KJV)
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
This verse also confirms if you give under a spirit of idolatry, witchcraft, compulsion or manipulation – it will be measured back to you again in like manner as well.
Please remember, give as the Lord has instructed you! If you are being compelled or manipulated under the words of man – pause and do not sow lest you add trouble to your life. If you have given under compulsion in the past and are bearing fruit of that chaos in your life now take heed to Peter’s words and do the same:
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Ministers of the Gospel, who compel people to give in such manner, the Word of God says that they are a thief. It is extortion to defraud people in such a manner.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor wantons(sexually immodest, effeminate), nor buggerers(Strongs#733: sodomite, homosexual), Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers(scoffer), nor extortioners(one who spiritually manipulates God’s People for finances) shall inherit the kingdom of God.

23 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.
2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord.
5 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord Our Righteousness.
7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord.
29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.
33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the Lord? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the Lord.
34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the Lord, I will even punish that man and his house.
35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the Lord answered? and, What hath the Lord spoken?
36 And the burden of the Lord shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God.

39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
