Do You Know Jesus as Your Lord and Savior?

As Christians, we believe in only one true God. God reveals/manifests Himself to us
in several different forms: 1 John 5:7 (KJV), “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

All of creation acknowledges who God is. Psalm 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Luke 19:40, “And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out..”

From the beginning God created all things – this world, everything and every one it! (see John 1:1-3,14)

We learn from the Holy Bible, that while all people were created in God’s image, not all belong to Him. A child of God is one who lives their life in a way that honors and pleases the Lord.

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19)

While many people believe there is a God, not everyone actually lives for Him in a way that glorifies Him. Only believing that there is a God, will not save you, rather you must live your life for Him. We read in the Holy Bible that all have sinned –

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

And we read that God sent His Son, Jesus, to save us – John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Lord Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, it is our sins that separate us from God and will lead to us hell. He died and suffered torment on our behalf, paying our penalty and came back to life on the third day. Because of what He did for us, we now have the opportunity to repent and put our faith in Him for forgiveness of our sins, so that we can be in right relationship with the Father and life a Holly Life through the power of the Holy Spirit. The only way to salvation is thought the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no other way!

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6)

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

To have faith in the Lord, means to believe in Him, confess Him and live for Him.

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.’” (Luke 10:27)

We begin to receive salvation, in Christ, by believing in our heart and through confession by our mouths. Romans 10:8-9, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Trust the Lord, have confidence and believe in His will for your life and live according to His Word. He will cleanse you of your sin, give you forgiveness and renew your heart.

He loved you so much that He gave His one and only Son for you. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

*That word “believes” when you look it up means: to have faith in, upon a person or thing, to entrust ones wellbeing, commit unto. It means not just to believe but to also be persuaded of; to place confidence in, trust in and be committed unto.

So then, a  true confession of faith means we are completely committing and devoting our lives to the Lord Jesus and His will.

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.’” (Luke 10:27)

When we repent of our sins and have faith towards God be receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and are Born Again. (see John 3:3-6) we must then be baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit in order to progress deeper into the Kingdom of God. When we are Born Again, we now receive a new nature but still have to put off our old sin nature. Baptism in water sets us free, saving us from the old sin nature and we can walk in the new life, in freedom and can experience deliverance. All throughout the Book of Acts we see examples of believers who had just came to Christ, were immediately water baptized into Jesus and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands all in the same hour! It was always very evident that they received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as they immediately began to speak in new tongues or prophesy as the Holy Spirit came on them and filled them! You can pray by yourself or if you can, we would recommend having a Spirit filled Believer lay hands on you and ask the Lord Jesus to baptize and fill you with the Holy Spirit! Acts 2:37-38 (KJV)
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:1-4 (KJV) “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

For those who have rejected to surrender their lives to the Lord Jesus, they will remain separated from God – in Hell – with no hope, for all eternity. But for those who have repented of their sins and believe and obey His Word, they will be able to spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord.

Remember that to repent of your sins means to turn from your old ways and live life in a new way that is pleasing to God. Confess with your mouth and believe with all your heart that Jesus is Lord and live a life that honors Him in all you do.

Read God’s Word, seek Him in prayer and fellowship with other Believers who walk in the Christian life that we see the in the Holy Bible.

Luke 15:7, “ I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

If you need prayer or have asked for Jesus to forgive you of your sins and for Him to be the Lord and Savior of your life, we would love to hear from you, to pray for you and encourage you!
